Asking a person a prospect THIS QUESTION FIRST on LinkedIn comes across as disingenuous. Do THIS instead…

As a Sales Professional, you will NEVER attract quality client on LinkedIn by starting your message to a prospect with the following question….

“Hello, How Are You?”

Asking a person you don’t know “how are you doing” comes across as disingenuous.

What do you think goes through the reader’s mind when they see your question?

Here is what goes through my mind:

• How do I know this person?

• Where did we meet?

• What do they want?

• Why are they reaching out to me.

Your intentions will be questioned and your outreach via LinkedIn will be ignored.

Why?

Because your actions are SUSPECT.

Do you REALLY want to know “how the person is doing” or are you simply setting up the conversation so you can pitch your product or service?

There is nothing wrong with being a Sales Professional. Prospecting is a vital component to Business Development & Revenue Generation.

Making connections on LinkedIn is a great way to build your book of business.

However, there is an Art to Selling.

It starts with understanding Human Psychology and how you may be preceived when you communicate.

Your success in using LinkedIn as a prospecting tool can be found in:

• Focusing on H2H (Human To Human) interactions vs B2B/B2C Transactions

• Knowing how to communicate effectively

• Leading with Value vs Attempting to make a sale

People do business with people they KNOW, LIKE, and TRUST.

Focus first on building a relationship upon a solid foundation and you will not only generate sales, you’ll attract supporters who will promote you to their network without being asked.
